What is Ikthus?
IKTHUS “FISH” SYMBOL: The fish was the mark of the early Christians. The first believers did not dare to wear any mark of their faith. If they did so, they were often persecuted or killed. The initials “JESUS CHRIST, GOD, SON, SAVIOUR” made up the Greek word for fish.
Ikthus Dumaguete is a purpose-driven church
We desire to help people discover their God-given purposes and journey with them as they grow and bear much fruits as they become more like Jesus Christ. In Ikthus Dumaguete the “FISH” in our logo “IKTHUS” will always become a great reminder to every member for two things: becoming devoted follower of Jesus and committing to become fishers of men or a disciple maker.

Ikthus Dumaguete is solely grounded in the foundation of faith set by Jesus Christ. We follow what is written in infallible His Word, the Bible. With this, and some other Biblical perspectives, we’ve written a statement of the faith that we profess.
